Friday, Aug 29th, What's on Your Patriot Woodworking Agenda?

Featured Replies

Here we are with a long Holiday weekend, college football starting, high school football and the air is still so thick you can cut it with a knife. But we know when we get to here, Fall is not too far away.

Last night I started a project that I need to get finished this weekend. I get all kinds of request and this one was quite different. I am turning a bullet, yes, a wooden bullet.
I was given this metal milk can that will be painted to be the shell casing.

And I am turning a bullet to fit in the top of this can.

I was told this is going to be a gift to a brother who was a retired Officer.

So I should get two of these finished this weekend and hopefully several other projects.

I will be working on Cutting Boards for the September First Friday show also so once again it will be a busy weekend in the shop.
What are you working on this weekend in your Patriot Woodworker Shop? We love to see the projects you are doing here at TPW so please post your projects and pictures and tell us what you are working on.

Don't be shy, get in the shop and make something!

Still plugging away at the communion table.

Above and Beyond WoodWorks

I hope to start a blanket chest Saturday but this past week i am doing a different kind of woodworking...

working on a segmentation eagle and little critters for Christmas

Nice looking construction job, Adam!

John, looks like that could be from the USS Missouri!
As for me, hope to finish that TV remote caddie.

John .... Bullet ? I've seen canon shells smaller then that ... LOL Sounds like a fun and very different project.

Adam nice work, contructing housing and attatchments is a lot of work and looking great so far. Can you supply a finished photo?

As for me, I will be on the scroll saw most of it. Our first show is a juried show Sept 6th and still need to get a few more pieces ready. Hoping to get a male angel mounted on some redwood backing too.

Sure thing. I might do a blog about it

Haha that sounds like fun John I made the whole bullet once (a .45) out of cherry burl, it didn't turn out too bad either. I'll have to try and find the pic and upload it here.

I'm not doing much in the woodworking department this weekend. i have too much in the way of inventory that isn't selling so, I have decided to wait a bit. I will however be making a couple of plant stakes, if i can't put up a fence to keep the lawn-care people lawn mower off my plants, maybe a little wood splintered into their blade will do the trick.

Yea here's that .45 ish looking bullet

Enjoy your weekend everyone, I'll be around since I have no plan at the moment to go anywhere.
