Friday again folks.

Hard to believe it's been 25 years since the attack on the U.S.. Doesn't seem like that long ago.

This weekend "Might" entail trying to get caught up on cutting down the jungle. Notice I said "Might".

Other than that I'll have to see what other disasters I can turn down.

Step-Sons wife has been trying to get me to work on their 08 Equinox again. (Needs a water pump)

My answer... I have enough of my own stuff to get done.

Mowing, mowing, mowing...at least for today once the dew dries up. Otherwise I'm hoping to complete my serpentine drawer chest this weekend.

Mimi is talking about taking down the above ground pool and storing it for the winter. Of course that means I do it and she supervises.

Did get a chance to cleanup the shop and put away the stuff from the range hood adventure. I was really glad to learn my sister's "new" old house is just as much out of level as ours.

First thing I did when redoing this place was to throw the level to the side.

If I made it level it just plain didn't look right.

I will be cleaning/organizing my scrap wood bins and building a storage box for my assortment of zip ties.

After 3 1/2 months of X-rays, nerve test & MRI my diagnosis is Spinal Stenosis which is no surprise to someone who spent 43 years in the construction industry.Doctors would like to do surgery but I opted for a nap and a couple of shots to the neck. Surgeon says he has good results with this treatment & I'm hoping for relief from these nerve pains.

Life moves on, I cut the grass today and all 3 of our daughters will be here this weekend to help move 40 years of "stuff" from the attic so I can get the insulation work done. I think just 20 of "stuff" is going back in our attic.

FWIW, I got the same diagnosis some years ago (and also did a lot of construction). I tried physical therapy exercises first, and that did the trick. No surgery. Yet?

Our Town has a 'Wood Bank' for people who need fuel assistance. We gearing up to start next month.

They wanted a way to make bundles of wood and pass it out that way in the early day of the heating season. I build a 12 x 12" box 9" deep that we can put the wood in and tie it off with Shipping Buckles

I have to build some shelves under the table top tomorrow and present it to the group tomorrow for their consideration

Got a good start on the weekend today. Finally got round to discing out the garden and had an epiphany. WHY not remove the electric fence on the ends , do the tractor work and then reinstall. Just have to figure an easy way to do this without splicing the electric fence back together.

Then it was back to digging out that hill by the ditch. By the way with only limited moisture the Bahia grass is coming along good.. Oh almost finished with the chameleon bowl. Guess that will be on tomorrows list as well as some ring holders in process.

A friend has a cabinet door (lower door under the kitchen sink) that she had two others try to repair (dark area). Looks to be a bit of water damage causing discoloration.

Unfortunately, the area looks to have been heavily sanded as there is a "dip" in that spot. I tried using one of those stain sticks and that helped a bit but still not good.

Any suggestions on how to repair or touchup? The sanding depression is an issue. Not sure if sanding the entire front and then restaining the whole surface would be better?

I'm not very good with staining so may also try to find someone with skills to tackle the repair. She also is considering replacing the door (but finding a match may be a real hurdle as this is about 20 years old).

I would say live with it or replace it. The dip would be very difficult but if you find a piece of matching wood not wait . Instead put a contrasting butterfly patch in and solve the stain issue and the dip.

I'm with Gerald on this, live with it or replace it. Making a replacement wouldn't be too hard (can't see those edge profiles real well, old eyes) but matching the color exactly might be a challenge.

I'm finishing up a scroll sawn "Thankyou with a rose" for the cardiac rehab office. I'll post a picture when it's finished.

Monday is my last rehab day and my graduation. :)

So I'm headed to the hardware store to get repair parts tor a screwup, (Air hose draped over TS drive belt while running.)

While I'm in town I decided to check out one of my favorite antique shops when I spot a box of file handles. I look around for new tools in the hand tool section. Nothing going on and I walk back to owner and strike up a conversation about the file handles. He says that I can have them he bought them as part of a much bigger lot. I handed him $10 and thanked him.

His shop went a little higher on my list and I no long need handles for any of my files.

The parts for the Air compressor and the Cirsaw came in on Sat and those pieces are up and running, now I just need to find a home for them In MY shop.

Sooo; maybe that cloud of frustration has a little bit of a silver lining? Nice find😁
