Friday again folks.

Here "Two Weeks From Anywhere" it's been too blasted hot, humid, wet, and mosquito infested to get much of anything accomplished.

Raining here now with flash flood warnings north of us.

Don't have anything planned for the Labor Day weekend due to the weather forecast. High of 92 with dew-points in the mid 70's for today.

The Jungle (Yard) will have to wait.

Might get some work done on a sideboard I've been fussing with since last January. I picked up the mirror and finally got the mirror frame glued together. One final inspection of the whole thing and then I'll start finishing.

Just waiting for the next "emergency" to ring the doorbell...

Need to install the last few trim pieces for house updates. Then hopefully I can get back to working on the drill press table.

I’m looking forward to a quiet weekend. I haven’t been in my shop since June 22, and haven’t contributed here since then. On June 22, my wife broke 4 vertebrae and has needed pretty much around the clock care since then. It’s been a rough couple of months, between her stubbornness, urgent care misdiagnoses and finally 2 Vertebroplasty procedures I believe she’s on the mend. Dr says that after this weekend she should be able to begin normal activities.

So I’m looking forward to being off the emotional roller coaster, participating here and probably most important getting back into the shop.

We should be finishing up the sauna tonight and tomorrow. There's only a couple of things left to do, so Sunday I plan to drown some worms and maybe have trout for dinner. :)

Wow, @Gordon, sorry to learn about the Mrs. So glad she is on the road to recovery.

Well...trim by the garage door was installed this morning.

And border around the existing flooring in front of the fireplace. Used white oak with the thought to match the oak board I installed on the mantel last year.

Few other trim and transition pieces.

And need to acknowledge my supervisor (glad for indoor projects with the excessive heat outside!)

I think (hope) this is the last house project for a while - although the room with the fireplace is in need of a fresh coat of paint. Not today... 😉

Worked on turning a bowl yesterday... first in quite a while. This one will be special I hope. Today spent half the day sharpening blades on bush hog and zero turn. Got under the BH to remove blades and saw that they attach to a large center ........so replan and sharpen in place with angle grinder. Got to zero turn and the Impact wrench I cleaned up still does not work ....wonder if 90 psi is too low? The strange thing is that using the blade block and still the pulley above spins. So had to lock down the pulley also. After the fact made a too to fit the two holes on pulleys to stop that spin

After all that I was looking at some trees (sweet gum) I want to remove from the back line . So much trees and brush on line we cannot see the corners. Had this bright idea since part of line cleared try a flashlight at corner (at dusk) and it helped s. So will get a brighter lite on both corners and see where the real line is,

Well, I WAS going to the Tractor Fest down in West Liberty, OH.....

Lion's Park....is under water, due to 2 streams being out of their banks....the Parking areas along St Rt 245 were several feet deep....half the park was under water..and the 4 Vendors I usually "Raid", had left....as THAT row was under 2 feet of the Mad River...

Mac-a Cheek Creek Bridge.....Mad River Bridges were not much better....Ended up walking 5 blocks from a DRY parking lot, to and from the park....Did not spend a cent....back of my legs were like snare drums...Village did have a few Yard Sales going on.....3. None were stopping at, for me...

I saw on the news last night that parts of your region had received almost 5" of rain from the Friday night/Saturday rains that passed over. They showed some of the streets in Bellefontaine were flooded.

My wife is in Eastern MA this weekend so I have 4 days to play with

I did make her another pallet table for her plants.

Then I ended up with a surprise. While heading out to buy lunch my neighbor had a Compressor and a Cirsaw on the side of the road. I stopped he came out, "They both work. The compressor has a broken drain valve and the Cirsaw I broke the front handle.

An hour later I had both parts on order

I now have 3 compressors and 5 or 6 Cirsaws

Road Trip, Yesterday.....Heart of Ohio Antique Center did not have anything I "Needed" to buy....other than Lunch....

Stopped at an Estate Sale on the way back home...and spent a $20 bill..

B&D MitreMate, a 1/4" drive Speedbar, and a small block plane....

Not sure what today's schedule will be, have not been informed....yet...

Garage floor is a wee bit damp...

But, it is drying out..

Note: Before buying that $39 Jackson Backsaw....

I was carrying it around, and when I sat down for Lunch, happened to take a good look at the teeth.....finished Lunch, walked back and set the saw back on that shelf...

BTW...this is not a Stanley made plane..

Might be a Sargent & Co. or a Millers Falls? Price was a bit over what I wanted to pay....( Besides, I have TWO Stanley No. 45s IN my shop, with full sets of cutters)
