I was working on a job today for SWMBO. Bolt a tennis ball onto a caster triangle with small slits in the top of the ball. No problem making the hole in the bottom and slits in the top. The problem was getting the bolt thru the hole so a nut could be attached. I tried all sorts of things magnetic wands, remote pickup tongs, nut on the inside, bolt on the inside. The slots could not be too big as they needed to hold on to legs. Then problem solving 101 kicked in. I got my long needle used to attach upholstery buttons in the back or seats of furniture. Ran it thru, put the thread onto the end of the bolt and pulled it thru. Worked wonders. Got all 4 done in less time than unsuccessful other tries.

Cool! But I gotta ask, why…😄

Well, what I was told was her quilting group puts a chair or table on these so it can roll around. The leg fits tightly in the "x". Just following orders.

Question could you not have just pushed the bolt in thru the x on top using a long punch?
