As many of you know I bought the McNaughton coring system. I had trouble with the middle knife but the small one worked good. Went to core some bowls the other day and had trouble with the small knife. I am thinking it is because my banjo flexes just enough to let the knife drop enough to get in a bind. I ruined the 16” bowl. I bought a Oneway coring system with just the 11.5” knife. It is supposed to core a 10” to 13” bowl. That is most of what I cut. I figure I can add the 9” knife later if I need it. When the Oneway arrived I cored the bad one and was able to save the inside bowl. I cored two more after that. If anybody that doesn’t have a coring system and is looking to get into coring bowls I would recommend the Oneway. I found it to be very fast and easy to set up and the cut comes out exactly where you want it. For those on the fence the setup I bought with the one knife was $400. After selling 5 of the cores it will be paid for. That is how I talked myself into buying it. The big bowl is 16”.
