4 hours ago4 hr I've done some time to time upholstery work: re-upholstering dining chair seats, sewing open seams, replacing panels, fixing broken sinuous springs, reattaching buttons, decorative nails, etc.My grandson's new wife brought me a vintage rocker that she thought was about 100 years old in her family. I'm just getting started on it. A very good upholsterer friend of mine that specializes in antiques, said it looked "cobbled together". So I'm proceeding and learning things along the way. It appears that the structure is original, but may have had a quick and dirty surface replacement with vinyl. Every time I do something a pile of black crud dust falls out and I need to sweep it up.
