20 hours ago20 hr Popular Post My wife wanted a mirror above our wood stove. It’s a very long story how I ended up with the wood but it is actually a piece of deck board from the Pewabic that sunk, a few miles up the lake from where we live, in 1865. Near as I can tell it’s oak but from all the years, and probably the oil that was used to preserve it it’s almost black though and through. I can tell you the wood is incredibly hard. I split it in half and routed to inlay the glass. A little history note, the Pewabic sank running into its sister ship the Meteor while exchanging mail. Lore has it that alcohol was involved. 😂In the shopInstalled.
