June 12Jun 12 Popular Post Made it through the week here "Two Weeks from Anywhere" and managed to remember it's Friday! Had rather severe storms the past two days with about 10K still without power in the area. Will have to check for damage when I go out this morning. So while I go to see what I can see, What's on Your Weekend Agenda?
June 12Jun 12 Popular Post My router table router died earlier in the week, I have parts coming today that will bring back to life (fingers crossed) so that's my shop time. But with the weather turning decidedly cooler and less humid I have a ton of yard stuff to catch up. Edited June 12Jun 12 by Fred W. Hargis Jr
June 12Jun 12 Popular Post Is it Friday already?I'm hoping to wrap up some woodworking at work - repairing an 8'x10' crate for shipping a spectrograph in. It's a real pain, as things are when the original builder never considered that someone may need to fix it one day! The sleepers on the bottom are very beat up since most of the outfits that have handled it so far did not have a big enough forklift (neither do I, but I do have a crane!) and made it work with various sketchy plans. So I'm taking off all the split and mangled wood parts and replacing them with a plywood box beam sort of thing. Using plywood is probably no more durable (or even less) than what they did before, but I don't have easy access to HT stamped lumber for international shipping, so plywood it must be.I'm hoping I don't have to do the other two of these things next week!
June 12Jun 12 Popular Post Well..pay day is not until next Wednesday....so..not a whole lot will get done until then..Plan for the weekend..to do as little as I can get away with....even less IF they let me...
June 12Jun 12 Popular Post WAAAAAY behind on theater set construction. Last day is tomorrow, end of day, load up the truck to take to the theater. Then "tech week" where we have evenings to put things together and do final preps before and after rehearsals. Will be a busy week. 40 set pieces from buildings, 40' long bridges, tower with spiral staircases, carts and columns.
June 12Jun 12 Popular Post Last nights rain/storms were a bust. I knew if I wrapped up the hose, it wouldn't rain.Still working on the "spiral bowl". Outside finished-
June 12Jun 12 Popular Post Working on some stop blocks for my miter saw station. Few in walnut (to match the trim 😉), and then one off the 3D printer. All versions are very solid with no movement when snugged down.Thankful I had this hardware kit from a holiday sale on hand. Edited June 12Jun 12 by BB1

June 12Jun 12 Popular Post Parts for my router arrived in the mail, and it seemed to fix it. Now I've got to put the router table back together. I'm glad it's working, I found out while futzing through my problem that Milwaukee has discontinued this model (5625). It's in a lift so I may well have to replace both if it dies. They are both (the lift and router) over 15 years old, so I guess I can't complain too much.
