This picture was posted over at the AAW forum by one of their members. I'd love to make such a box, but that appears to be a single piece of wood. My (limitied) experience with such things is that the frame will split/crack at some point as the wood dries further. Is that correct? The bottom almost has to be a separate piece , maybe it supports the frame portion once assembled? BTW, sorry for the cutoff picture, the image at AAW was bigger than my screen, so i could only get this much of the picture.

In a previous post, the maker mentioned this-

"The back is a bowl with straight sides and pops out so the glass will be inserted and held in place by the back."

If you have some really dried hard wood, I think it will be OK.

Thanks, Lew. I had not seen the earlier post he did. I'm not sure it's clear to me how the 2 pieces fit together. I may send him a PM asking for some more info.

Fred, I think this might be how he made it. These are not to scale but rather to show how the top and bottom fit together
