Looks like that time of the week again.

Sure am glad it's "No Mow May", costs enough to feed the car let alone adding feeding the mowers to the mix.

Other than that not a whole lot going on around here.

Got all of the inserts glued into the laminated bowl experiment, yesterday. Need to break down the clamping setup, clean up the blank and get it ready to turn. Spent some time yesterday, while the glue was drying, playing with Sketchup to see if a different laminated bowl blank was possible with the tools/machines I have.

Need to design a jig for the bandsaw to cut the "pie pieces" first.

Lew, that look like it will be a real challenge. I'm looking forward to seeing the finished product.

White box on top is another template...I don't have the guide bushings needed for my routers to use this thing...and, by the time I could get this set up...I'd already be done with the Hand tools..

Sold mine a couple of years ago with 4 templates- $100 for the same reason you mentioned.

I still have mine with 2 templates . Wanted another template but mow do not remember which it was , maybe thru dovetail. That adjustable template looks interesting. Have not used in a long time but just not doing 4 sided boxes any more.

I'll be honest, I have to go with choice #2 "pretend to care" and I think the weather has something to with it.

This past week my husband and I worked with the Master's Builders on a Noah's ark playground feature. Still a ways to go, but we were not able to stay for the second week. They plan to continue on to finish the ark next week. I learned so much about construction - so many angles in an ark!! End of week status:

The group is mainly retired people who do projects for mission-minded churches. This project was at a camp and was a bit different from their typical building projects. If anyone is interested in volunteering or learning more, please message me and I can link you up with the organizers. (Hope this is ok to post...if not, please remove!)

To have started with a concrete slab on Monday and then see this as we left on Friday was pretty special.

That's a great project to be a part of and I'm sure the kids will enjoy it for years to come, well done.

Drove to southern Michigan for graduation for a grandson and his fiancee. Then drove back at night.

About the last 1/3 of the trip on the way up was off the interstate and thru a few small towns (e.g., county seats). What was a surprise was there were two places with the ubiquitous cedar picket planters out front for sale. I guess it will be that until late summer when various Christmas tree wooden things will re-appear. And the posts, "What could I sell that for?"

Yes, I got a book once on making a wooden boat. I decided against it because of all the odd angles and lengths.
