I picked this No 3 up at a local flea market a couple weeks ago. It's a Type 11.

It needs a new blade.

Not going to happen anytime soon. 1 and 3/4 inch blades are running $35 plus shipping, which would end up at more thn twice the cost of the plane. Not happening.

Hopefully I will eventually find one.

Here are a few pictures after a clean up to put it back in use.

And here it is in use. Lovely, delicate shavings that stick to everything, even with a worn out blade.

I actually like this plane very much. I think it will be useful for luthiery work as well.

It is one of the most beautiful planes in your hand that you can have IMO.
