April 24Apr 24 Popular Post Every once in a while I get into a really cool community project. A friend of mine is the curator of the local historical society and they run on a shoestring budget. He was gifted a sign that came from the front of a local family farm that was built in 1892. The barn was in bad shape and had to be taken down but they salvaged the sign that was weathered and in pieces. Throughout the week I was able to get it back together and Thursday we mounted it and built a frame. I didn’t want the frame to outshine the sign so we opted for 5/4 cherry. A challenge but really fun to build.
April 24Apr 24 Author Thanks guys. The joinery looks simple but was a challenge. I pocket screwed the lower joints but used CA on the peak. Kreg saved the day.
