Reminds me of how my dad used to build things, straight forward no bull." So last fall, i get a call from our church, we need a table made, today, you have about an hour, here's the dimensions, it has to support a rented movie projector (digital) since the built in projector just died and it will be weeks (later months) to get it fixed.ok, challenge accepted, 39" high, 18x22 table top.look around, i have some 1/2 plywood and some 2x2s. no time or materials for something "nice", but no one is going to see it, so it'll be fine.put together the first version below.some time passes, another event coming up, and they determined that the first table was a little "wobbly" (well, don't touch it!!). can i fix it by next wednesday midday.sweet, i have several days to work on this, and a better selection of scraps laying around.add a lower shelf, add some better stiffeners/aprons. all pocket screwed together, pre-finished maple plywood (will match the wood already in the church, leftover from my recent "Mom's Nursing Room" cabinets i built).ta, da.will bring it tomorrow morning. and now that it is somewhat presentable, you could even use it for resting a drink/laptop/flowers/whatever next to a lectern.same legs, just painted black since the pine would not have matched the maple.new one is same height, top grew to 19x23. lower shelf is 16-3/4 up from the floor. over hang is 1" all around.
