April 7Apr 7 Personally I never purchased a Triton tool, but they did have some that caught my attention. Edited April 7Apr 7 by Grandpadave52
April 7Apr 7 Popular Post I had a Triton router, and while it had some features i liked overall it was never my first pick to use. But I think this has been stewing for a while; guess they couldn't overcome the issues they had.
April 7Apr 7 Popular Post Triton router owner here. Ran into issues with mine a couple years ago (was in my router table). Major runaround to get info or parts. The place I bought mine from basically suggested I should just buy a new router. Vowed never to never buy any Triton tool given the terrible customer service - likely the beginning of the end of the company? I did get a new router - from a different company.
April 7Apr 7 Popular Post The one I hate going down the tubes is Porter-Cable, most likely due to C-level decisions. My early router (and only one for many years) is still in regular use. I got their biscuit joiner and had a problem changing the blade, took it too the repair shop and they did, too. They sent me a new one in the interim, then fixed the original one and sent me that. Great customer service. Then Stanley Black&Decker acquired the brand and didn't know where to place it relative to DeWalt, I think. Gradually cheapened the line.
April 10Apr 10 Seems everything BD gets to touch goes into the toilet. Even their bran has cheapened greatly. Yes I have 3 PC routers and a mitre saw. Had a drill at one time but it was NiCad and I got tired of fixing batteries.
April 21Apr 21 Saw an announcement that "Triton is back" - apparently under new ownership with Timbecon, an Australian company.
April 22Apr 22 Author I think James alluded to that possibility. The downside is global distribution will be less likely at least initially.
