April 5Apr 5 Popular Post I had a class yesterday at Woodcraft. I only had two students. A man and a woman. She said she was so nervous she would like to take the class again now that she has a little experience and asked if it would be ok. I told her she can take as many as she likes. After we were done and finished cleaning up she tried to give me a $20 tip. Of course I refused and thanked her very much. I told her to use it towards her next class. Never had anyone offer me a tip before.
April 6Apr 6 Popular Post That's awesome and it sounds you handled it well. I did take a tip once, lost a lot of money though! LOL
April 6Apr 6 Good on you Rusty. Often a small class will offer much more dialogue and interaction than a large one simply because people don't feel as intimated. I found, as an instructor, the smaller groups challenged me more forcing me to step outside of the scripted usual and customary to offer a more rewarding one on one type of setting. I always felt all of us learned new and better skills.
April 9Apr 9 Have not taught a class but have done demos and given a bit of one on one . It is very rewarding to pass on what we have learned.
