How sharp are his tools? Aoubt 1:45 mark in the video, planing against the grain on a walnut board.
March 30Mar 30 Popular Post Made a little progress on the "Honey-Do" list. I just don't understand how it keeps getting longer.
March 30Mar 30 Popular Post Walnut edge banding cut and prepped on Saturday - need to get final cuts and then glue in place. Also added some pvc trim around the base to discourage any mice from making that space a home as the levelers created some gaps given the unevenness of the floor (prior "mouse situation" has me ever vigilant 😬).This week I hope to get the mitersaw in place so I can determine where to route the dado for track in the side counters. Then drawers and dust collection. List is long!
March 30Mar 30 Popular Post wrapped up the church project, got all the baseboard installed this morning. love when it's MSD time: My Stuff is Done!sorry, no pics.

March 30Mar 30 Popular Post Need more clamps and more space! Only one side left to get the walnut glued on and then will need to trim a bit.Lost a chunk of the afternoon working on the fence on my mitersaw. The two sides were slightly off which created a bit of a safety issue as boards spanning the gap would fall into the blade a bit when making a cut. Found a video and was happily surprised that he had the same mitersaw as me! Seems like I now have it set correctly. Check that off the list.
March 31Mar 31 Popular Post Boss's errands today...nothing much IN the shop...cleared out a space to use a scoop shovel, a trash can and a large trash bag....got one bag filled up, and the right thumb decided THAT was enough for today.....Might be a few days before any shop time, again...Drains are working, again...slowly. Will have a check-up on the thumb, Wednesday morning...to see what "bug" is in me thumb....Have one spot that is like a pimple, that won't go away...
March 31Mar 31 Popular Post Saturday I sold my Rhino side-by-side. Sunday I purchased a 48" x 24" x 78" 5 shelf storage rack from HF and put it together. This morning I reorganized the storage shed where I had been storing the Rhino and set up the new storage shelf in said shed. This allowed me to get some camping equipment out of my shop/garage so I have room to get more shop stuff. 🤪
March 31Mar 31 Popular Post Lazy day Saturday; Sunday after church took family out for lunch to celebrate oldest grandson's 15th birthday then back to their house for gifts, cake and ice cream plus watch some of the NCAA tourney.Yesterday was way too windy for outside work, so after some domestic duties, spent time sorting and refurbishing a few tools; rinse and repeat today. Remainder of the week TBD mostly based on the weather unstability; Need to start thinking about getting the mower ready after I pick up a couple more semi loads of sticks/limbs again; Also need to top off the soil in the raised garden beds plus see about setting the final four.

April 1Apr 1 Popular Post Yesterday trimmed all the walnut edge banding. Today worked on the mitersaw placement and trying to figure out dust collection. Not much shop time today so little progress.

April 2Apr 2 Popular Post Good luck with the DC effort Barb. If you solve that for a miter saw, it will be akin to discovering how to split the atom.

Also looking how to run a connection from my dust collector to the back/bottom of the box I'll build that will hopefully get the dust that seems to swirl past the collection point on the saw. Nothing will be 100% but more of a contain/control. Time will tell if it works!
