Tool Enhancement #2

I have a table top drill press and the material support platform is only 6 1/2" wide by 7 1/2" deep. Also the shape of the underside of the platform makes it difficult to clamp material to it.

So, I created a platform that would clamp to the original platform that is 12 3/8" wide by 11 1/8" deep. I had to notch the back right corner so it wouldn't interfere with the crank handle.

On the underside of the new platform I made a bar with knobs to clamp to the original platform and a couple of pieces of wood to guide the new platform into the same place every time and keep it square to the original platform.

Here it is in use.

Most definitely a positive addition! I like your drill press light, too!

Thanks lew. That is a magnetic base/flex arm light I found on Amazon. I have a second one that is shared by a sanding station and table top band saw I have mounted on a cart.

Great solution and upgrade Bubba. Thanks for sharing.
