But my local spot was O.B. Pier. I have one board left, an 8' 6" Phil Edwards, up in my garage rafters.

I moved out and lived in Pacific Beach in my own apartment. I surfed everywhere. Pacific beach, Blacks Beach Del Mar, Ocean beach, La Jolla, Encinitas and all the way down to Baja. I started making boards in High School. Yes I sold them here and there and made them in my parents back yard off of Lake Murray. Those were the days! LOL.
February 26Feb 26 I did a tub floor about a year ago. I searched here for the post of products I used but couldn't locate it. I procured Bondo + hardener, Fiberglass Cloth, Fiberglass resin + hardener, and 3M Expanding foam. There's plenty of YouTube videos showing methods. Also, there are DIY kits that contain everything.---> HEREWord of caution; you'll need to allow a minimum of 48 hours before using and PLENTY of ventilation while progressing through the steps. Blacks may be the most powerful wave in SD County, the way it comes out of deep water and hits that shelf, I remember winter days where the volume of water in those waves was massive, like the lip was 3 feet thick! When we visit SD a couple times a year, we'll still go there and hang out at the glider port and eat a picnic lunch. It's still a beautiful location. Is that you in that pic Rick, all goofy foot and everything!
March 3Mar 3 Author Welp, after looking at the products and the work involved, we are hiring a pro. For 388 bucks he's coming in with all his gear, sanding equipment, acid wash, HVLP system and the finish product will look as good as high shine factory finish. The new homeowners will be happy with their new shower. 😉 I just can't get past the best products being rolled on, and the rattle can sprays don't last more than a year and the results are spotty. So we'll let this pro do the work, he'll be in and out, and his work is guaranteed for 8 years. Thanks Gramps for the lead on the product, appreciate it!

It's hard to think we have to part with our money for something we can conceivably do ourselves. But sometimes we gotta step back and set pride aside, and say hey, the pro's are needed for this project! For your window project, that is indeed money well spent, that's a bit of a project you guys had. For 500 bucks that seems very reasonable. Our shower crew of two, came in at 9:15 and were done and gone at 12noon. The shower looks brand new, and there is no way I could of done that. 388 bucks well spent. Check one more item off the todo list before selling!
