Tool rest mod

Still cold outside so iam at it again. This time I used the 3d printer to create a mod for the lathe toolrest. I hate having to get a allen wrench to adjust the toolrest so this is my answer. The knob with the handle and spring is designed to allow changing the position of the handle since it cannot be turned 360 degrees. You push in on the knob/handle to release the knob from the bolt enabling you to rotate the knob where you desire. If some one wants to make one I have lots of the springs and I can send you one. Every 10 days I have to change my g7 transmitter (diabetas) and the applicater uses one of these springs which I save. In fact the mod was designed around the spring instead of making the mod and then finding a proper spring to fit.

Excellent Ozzie. Very resourceful and quite creative. Thanks for sharing.

BTW, still plenty cold here too. Only one day in the last 3+weeks above freezing.

I will be posting the 3d files in the next couple days .

That’s a clever solution. Anything that gets rid of hunting for an Allen wrench in the middle of a turning session is a win. Designing it around a spring you already had on hand is smart too. Nice bit of practical problem solving. Appreciate you offering to share the springs.
