January 29Jan 29 A good article from Wood Magazine https://www.woodmagazine.com/woodworking-how-to/joinery/mortise-tenon-joinery/loose-tenon-joinery
January 29Jan 29 Thanks Kmealy it's a good video. BTW... there's a simpler way to make a hyperlink:Write your phrase:A good article from wood magazineThen hold your finger down on word(s) to create hyperlink. (You can select any word or phrase you like)Scroll up to find this. Then select the little chain like symbol:This will pop up next and enter your hyperlink text (the long text you placed in your post above) into the field "link text" and select done. Now you should see the word in your sentence highlighted. It's done.Cheers!MrRick Edited January 29Jan 29 by MrRick
January 29Jan 29 To me, the biggest advantage is the cut to length pieces of stock, versus leaving extra on to cut into a tenon. Years ago, my aversion to loose tenons was my mistaken belief that they weren't as strong as integral tenons. They may not be, it would take some careful laboratory tests to prove one way or the pother...they are plenty strong for any woodworking joinery.
