January 23Jan 23 Thanks, Ron! Variable speed is a lot nicer than belt changes. The built in light is nice, too.
January 24Jan 24 Dang Ron, not a bad unit for the money, and then some! Love that variable speed and the read out, the table extension is nice too, so Vevor, very cool! And great job on the review too!
January 26Jan 26 Thanks for the review Ron. It sure looks a lot like the Wen model. Very similar features too. Even the color is about a match. They both probably come out of the same factory. Looking forward to hearing more about it as you get to put it through the paces. At least from the video, it really does run quiet.Out of curiosity have you checked the table in relation to the spindle for squareness? BTW, appreciated and enjoyed the phone visit Friday afternoon. JV and Varsity lost both games that night; both lost by one point. Thankful Dorothy is doing well.

When I get the time I will put a dial indicator on the spindle and check TIR.
January 26Jan 26 Author Popular Post I have to eat a little crow. I didn’t (and don’t) like the depth gauge because it doesn’t have a cinch nut. I set it and drilled 40 35mm fortsner bit holes and it didn’t vary at all. I did find out that the speed varies very little. I drilled them at 1,000 rpm and it was pretty stable.
January 29Jan 29 Author Final update: Vevor confirmed that the instruction manual was an “older” manual and did not match my drill press. They did not replace the depth assembly as I requested and that confirmed my suspicions that Vevor doesn’t stock and sell parts. Their solution was to refund $79 back to me and they promptly did so. McMaster-Carr carries round knurled spacer nuts so I bought 2, moved the lower nut to the top as a cinch nut and put the new nuts at the bottom. Seems to be a viable solution.

Makes the purchase price one heck of a deal considering.

I figured they would be metric.
