January 15Jan 15 Has anybody used acacia wood in a cutting board?? How did it go? and more importantly where did you get it (without taking out a 2nd mortgage)?? Why you ask--- b/c #2 grandson asked for an end grain cutting board ( 14x11x1.5) as a house warming gift after graduating college. I've got the usual walnut, cherry, hickory, purple heart (PIA) so I was trying to make his different from the other ones in the family. thks smitty
January 15Jan 15 Smitty, Check out the teak project panels at Lowe's. I've made a couple of end-grain boards from them and they look pretty good. At least to me! 24" x 24" x 1" for around $40.
