The boss must be confused thinking it's still Saturday. That's what happens when you retire.😆

OK, I'll start. Yesterday, Church, lunch after, a few errands then youngest grandson's 6th grade travel league basketball games in the next county East. The league has really expanded for the winter sessions. They won both games handily; still undefeated.

Three month follow-up doctor/surgeon appointment tomorrow morning in downtown Indianapolis. Mrs. and I will probably do a late lunch after. Tomorrow night oldest grandson has a rescheduled, make-up H.S. game.

Might get some outside work done Wed. & Thursday when we get near 60°  before the rain arrives and ahead of the season of mud, part one. LOTS of sticks to harvest from the winter crop. Donut see much else happening; have to keep in shape ahead of Friday nights Peach Bowl. Hmmm, donut think I've ever had a peach doughnut.

And confused I am, aint kidding guys, I already forgot what day it is! Thanks for stepping up to the plate Steve and covering for me.

I am finally going to get started on our new grand baby bassinet this week. He's due Feb 3rd so I need to get going. After consultation with mama, this is what we came up with, grandma and grandpa purchased this bassinet (basket) from a retailer, and I am going to make the rocking base for it. I had proposed an all wood bassinet but for various reasons (comfort, portability, ease of carrying from second floor to first floor of their apartment home and other reasons) we decided that this was the best way to go, and it keeps grandpa in the loop in order to feel like I built something for our grand baby.  Daughter really wanted something from dad, so this is the compromise I won with. 🙂

The bassinet (Moses Basket). We bought the basket only.

My task is to build the rocking frame. But, she wants it to resemble my Shaker Rockers I have built in the past.

The rocker below I built a few years back, so with that in mind, the above rocking frame should match. So what I plan on doing is basically duplicating from the seat down. Daughter specifically pointed out the rocker to arm spindle at the front for all four of the bassinet legs, she loves the style of the turning at the top of the spindle. This'll be a little bit of a challenge, but it'll work. I am not the best at drawing things out and designing, usually I work on the fly and design on the fly, but this project will have to be carefully thought out and drawn out. It may appear simple at first, but as I think through some of the aspects, such as joining the top of the spindle to the top of the bassinet frame, little things such as that. But this should be fun! I'll create a separate topic for the build. Have a wonderful week everybody!

Phenomenal work on that rocker. I love that very top piece, I don't know that I usually see that. Also I'm rooting for the Feb. 3rd date....I know a Kentucky piddler born on that date 😉  😜

Aaron, that's a Shawl rail at the top. Thanks for the kudos! You got me to thinking about the due date, should we get a pool going? 50/50 split? Winner pockets half and the other half goes to a charity.
