I have a friend of mine who was one of my very first subscribers on Youtube. We have known one another a long time, and the relationship just clicked really quickly. I speak to him every day.

He really loves Christmas, and over the years he has gifted me a nice tool for my hand tool kit on Christmas. 

This year he out did himself.

 

 

Veritas Carcass Saws, rip and crosscut.

Wifey wants to go shopping today, but I am hoping to have time to get out to the bench and cut with them, maybe do a small review of them.

Really just get out and cut with them. Maybe crosscut some wood on the bench hook and cut a tenon or two.

But they are going to be the saws I reach for, particularly the crosscut, which is the actual "carcass" saw.

I worked at Lee Valley for 6 years. I have all these saws you show and everyone of them are fantastic!  It takes the joy of hand tool woodworking to a new level. Enjoy them!!

I love LV. 

I particularly like that they aren't afraid to be different, innovate and try new ways to make quality tools at a price the average guy can relate to. 

If I had to buy tools all over again and I had the cash to go new, I'd go Lee Valley for the vast majority of my kit.

I agree. It's almost worth selling all you have that isn't LV and replace with all LV!
