MrRick Posted November 29 Report Posted November 29 (edited) This is a "Quick Release Drill Press Vise" that I made entirely out of Red Oak. I used 1/4"-20 threaded rod and hex nut. I turned the handle on my drill press. The handle slides forward and backward freely and can be locked anywhere along the way by turning the handle clockwise. Here's a close up of it setup on my drill press. Here's a YouTube of it in acton. Cheers! MrRick Edited November 29 by MrRick 4DThinker, DuckSoup, Headhunter and 1 other 4 Quote

Grandpadave52 Posted November 29 Report Posted November 29 Very clever. Nice looking vice. I love the shape of the handle. It looks very comfortable to use. Headhunter, MrRick, DuckSoup and 1 other 4 Quote
MrRick Posted November 30 Author Report Posted November 30 (edited) Thanks Grandpadave52. I made it the old octagonal shape. Made some for chisels too. They won't roll off the bench. You’re right.. it's real comfortable in the hand. Edited November 30 by MrRick DuckSoup, Grandpadave52 and Headhunter 3 Quote
