November 6, 2025Nov 6 Popular Post So, technically my latest projects have been more carpentry than woodworking, but that's due to the fact that my garage has still not been turned into my shop space yet. We're coming up on a year since we moved in and I just haven't been able to get to that point yet. However, I thought I'd share these with those you that know what it really takes to get these done. First, was my shed. It's 11' W x 11.5' L with 9' walls. I built everything myself, including the trusses. It's not perfect, but it turned out okay overall. Most importantly, it got my mower and lots of other stuff out of the garage. Next summer, when I have it fully packed and organized, I'll post some pictures so you can see my Tetris skills. 😆 Second, was the pantry. Again, I did all the work myself, framing, drywall, electrical, etc. I built the ceiling to support another level of storage above it. It's probably overkill with double 2x6/OSB headers over the doors and 2x6 joists with joist hangers on the outside wall. We have a ridiculously high vaulted ceiling over the living room and dining room, so I intend to build something more cabinet-like for the second level. Full disclosure, I did NOT build the bi-fold doors. I got those through Marketplace for a really good price. See pictures below.
November 6, 2025Nov 6 Well, it's not like you've been idling. Excellent job on the shed. It looks great from where I sit. Ditto for the pantry. Nice score on the doors too. Thanks for sharing with us and giving an update on your activities.
