Popular Post MrRick Posted October 31 Popular Post Report Posted October 31 This makes the third medicine cabinet I've made. I might even make another if my wife has anything to say about it. But I'd be happy to do it. I used satin stainless steel handles on it from Lee Valley's. I contoured the doors frames with a Classic Ogee profile. Center panels have beading. French cleated to the wall. Underneath I placed a push light. Boy! Has this become real handy! Nice for those middle of the night bathroom visits. No bright lights.. just a little soft night light. Here's a view inside the cabinet. I used European hinges. Again from Lee Valley. The shelves are adjustable. Thanks for looking! Cheers! MrRick aaronc, Gunny, Gerald and 2 others 5 Quote
Popular Post lew Posted October 31 Popular Post Report Posted October 31 Nicely Done! We had Bath Fitter redo our 1953 bathroom tube/shower but Mimi wanted more than flakeboard cabinetry offered by the Borgs. This was the medicine cabinet I made from solid red oak. There was also a matching sink base unit. I had request, from a neighbor, for a "primitive" medicine cabinet Primitive is an understatement! Grandpadave52, PeteM, Gunny and 2 others 5 Quote
MrRick Posted October 31 Author Report Posted October 31 Thanks lew! Your oak cabinet is nice. Almost too nice for the bathroom. The primitive medicine cabinet is a hoot! Lol. Cheers! Grandpadave52, lew and Gunny 2 1 Quote
Gunny Posted October 31 Report Posted October 31 Nice work. Took mine out years ago when kids came along. Might make new one and put back. lew and Grandpadave52 2 Quote
BB1 Posted October 31 Report Posted October 31 Nice to be able to customize for individual spaces! I think that's one of the great justifications for a roomful of $$ tools...right?!? Gunny, lew and Grandpadave52 2 1 Quote

Sure is better for us instead of seeing vitamin and medicine bottles all over the countertop. Also safer having them unseen and put away when the grandkids are over. lew, Gerald, Grandpadave52 and 1 other 4 Quote

Popular Post BB1 Posted November 1 Popular Post Report Posted November 1 I remember shopping for a toilet paper holder as one of ours needed to be replaced. I looked at options at a big box store and selected a wooden one...and then was struck by the reality that as a woodworker, paying for this was ridiculous (think it was about $10). So I went home, grabbed some "scrap" wood (better known as small cutoffs to be saved for future use) and proceeded to use about every tool in my shop - tablesaw, bandsaw, router table, etc. Joked that to save $10 I only needed a couple thousand dollars of equipment. Anyway, sticking to the lie...I mean idea...that being a woodworker is a cost saving situation. Gerald, Gunny, lew and 2 others 1 4 Quote
Popular Post MrRick Posted November 1 Author Popular Post Report Posted November 1 Hey... next time do it with all hand tools. Then there's no guilt. Unless of course the hand tools cost a fortune! LOL! Gunny, Gerald, Grandpadave52 and 2 others 5 Quote
Gerald Posted November 1 Report Posted November 1 Love the idea. The handles are the same we picked for the new house. Son's bathroom is small and I have to make one for him. @lew your neighbors design looks more like the little house out back. Gunny, MrRick and Grandpadave52 3 Quote
