October 28, 2025Oct 28 Popular Post This is my twice turned vase, it was intended for display in a new gallery I have just partnered with. The plan was maple and a transparent turquoise ring of epoxy resin shown here on the left. Sanded polished and buffed it looked great except you could clearly see about a 1/4 inch long brush bristle solidly encapsulated deep in the epoxy 😬 . That lowsey little feature just sat there weightless like it was in orbit.....PIZZED me off. OK never going to the gallery like that and my wife has enough of my mistkes displayed in our house. So back on the lathe with it, part off all that nearly beautiful epoxy ring and start over. The restart was a new ring of maple and bloodwood , the same vase but with a different face. I hate paying for the same ground twice but fortunately it worked well enough for me to take it to the gallery and hopefully to be adopted into a new home 🤑.

October 28, 2025Oct 28 Great save Mike and a cool new look. I would have just turned the first iteration where the brush hair was to the back.😜
