September 28, 2025Sep 28 Popular Post This is a smoothing plane I made using hard rock maple. I used a Hock blade in it. Here's the blade poking out. I made this box for the plane. You just lift off the top. This reveals the plane sitting on the bottom ... .... Then just lift the plane off the bottom. As with any wooden plane you tap as required to adjust blade depth. This plane is beautiful for fine planing. You can go right to applying your finish after using it. Thanks for looking! " If you like it give it a 👍 " Cheers! September 29, 2025Sep 29 Author After Ron Hock's retirement, his Hock Tools brand was acquired by Lee Valley Tools, ensuring the continued production and legacy of the blades, which are thicker, better finished, and offer a superior alternative to original equipment manufacturer (OEM) blades.
