September 22, 2025Sep 22 Popular Post Introduction ... Originally I made this as a Business Card Box for a friend who is always helping others. Then it dawned on me that it also would make for an attractive ring box. So I'll probably make another as a ring box. The making ... I started by planing and card scraping some 5/16" and 3/8" thick stock. The top and back will be 3/8". I adhered thicker stock to my bench using the CA glue and painters tape technique shown here. Place tape on bench and stock Next place a bead of CA glue on bench tape and accelerator spray on the stock tape. Then start planing and scraping Details ... The box has hand cut dovetailed corners and a flush hinge. The sides are Torrefied Maple. Top, bottom, front, and back are Spalted Maple. The hinge is Hard Rock Maple. I made the lid proud, chamfered and slightly pillowed. An inside look..... Thanks for looking!! Feel free to comment, ask questions and "thumbs up 👍" if you like it! Cheers! MrRick
