Waste not, as they say.  These are made from the remains of the large vase I posted a couple of weeks ago. Finally got around to finishing them off. Not the best in the world but gives me ideas on what to do better next time. As usual, mesquite and red oak with Osmo poly-x gloss oil. 

 

Took these to show mom at the nursing home and one of the nurse aides just had to have one. I told her $35 each and she agreed. After thinking it over, I believe she qualifies for my special 100% discount. Or I may even force her to take the 200% discount and leave with both.

They look great from Indiana Tony.

Mesquite and red oak is a great combo, and that finish really suits it. Honestly, stuff like this is where a lot of good ideas come from — smaller pieces, less pressure, more room to experiment.
