I have to figure out how to move it... And pour some concrete, and tear down the old one

I used to think they just had overstocks, but that is how they sell a lot of their buildings. Another auction house gets over $4k for the same model. I think it's because they only sell a few at a time, I found a different auction that had around 30 or more in different sizes and styles.. It's home now and I'm looking at a lot more concrete work than I thought, but it has to be done...

Bringing in 5 yards of concrete is a little scary because I don't know what I am doing so I am looking for someone willing to do a side job for maybe twice his usual daily pay. Doing a little digging I was able to find an underground wasp (or hornet or some other kind of flying biting stinging little #$%^#&#rds that swarmed and attacked me 3 times before I figured out where they were coming from. I don't have anything from a store to kill them so I improvised with a couple thermoses of boiling water.. I found the hole and stuck a transmission funnel in there.. There were 20 or so that were out and I got most of them with marking spray paint.. They got me over 30 times and I wiped out their kingdom.. It's been an adventure and I haven't really gotten started yet. .

We have yellow jackets that nest in burrows and disturbing them is a very unpleasant event. Anyway, good call on the concrete....pouring that slab is a more than one person job

When we first moved here I mowed our yard. Ran over a nest of yellow jackets. Stung so many times I lost count; I was almost covered in them. Had to run in the house and jump in the shower to get them off of me.

PLEASE BE CAREFUL! Dad got TWO ambulance trips by running afoul of yellowjackets. I myself swell up like a beach ball with just one sting.

Luckily mine were mostly welts except the top of one hand that swelled up pretty good. Both of those stings were through a fabric glove.. I had dowsed myself down with peppermint oil (Works Great and non chemical) and sprayed my clothes with deet but I didn't put anything on the cheap gloves.. That was literally the only spot that wasn't protected with something and they didn't waste any time finding it..

The first time was at night, i was marking a spot to move the existing porto-garage to and I never saw anything, just all at the same time I was getting hit from every direction, the next time, I had a hoodie with long sleeves and a little deet on the clothes,, they got around the hoodie and got my neck and when I was trying to shake them off (I still didn't see them) they got my upper body..

Yeah,, I looked at pricing for hundreds of 80Lb bags so I could do it a little at a time by myself and I priced a 5 yrd load which ended up a lot cheaper but I have to be fast (I would have 25 minutes, then over 4 bucks per minute after that) so even if I pay a fair amount to someone it's still less out of pocket and I should have a better finished product..

I'll offer this for your consideration as an alternative to concrete...  

 

I built a she-shed for my wife and made the floor with those fairly cheap 16" square concrete pavers from the big box.  It was over a base of crusher run, then a layer of sand.  Screed off the sand base and set the pavers.  Then sweep in play sand between the pavers. 

 

The good part is the floor can be done after the shed is up.  And there's no urgency like there is with concrete.  The pavers were cut with a tile saw from HF with a diamond blade.  And you can rent a tamper to settle the bases, but I didn't do that.

Thank you for the suggestion, I have considered a few things but there is a retaining wall involved and I am expanding an existing slab. There is a permitted structure I can fall back on if I get caught. We have footing, wind, and snowload requirements and my plan is to ignore the county but make everything fixable if they come-a-knocking  I am also in the forest with pine trees everywhere so the roots have to be considered.. I am seriously considering building a vibra-plate to compact the base.. Either a 12 volt and use batteries for weight or a plug in using an extra motor I have laying around.. . It will be Hillbilly Engineering but it will shake and pack..
