I was just talking to someone who mentioned these types of individuals. He said that many don't even use tools but just review them.

Along that line of thought----is it just me or do almost all of the influencers have Saw Stop table saws?

wondering if they bought them (ha,ha) or were "donated" by Saw Stop. Same thing with Festool.

If they do not have Saw Stop, they have Harvey.  I remember hearing that they worked with both companies for help.  I know the Shaper Origin is working with the Influencers.  Shaper Origin has the same parent company as Saw Stop and Festool.  Danl

I don't watch This Old House much, but I remember years ago, stuff was Festool.   I remember them gluing together a couple of boards for a window seat and my comment to myself was "Well there's a $1500 tool doing a job that doesn't need done."  Reminds me of Vanna White who gets paid millions doing a job that does not need done.

On a Festool note, I'm reading some FWW from 1997 or so and some of the original Festool tools have small ads and at that time they called them Festo.  There is a huge warehouse a couple exits down from me that is labelled "Festo", so I'm going to have to check it out.  It's really about 10 acres of a building.

Yeah, Festo was the name of the company. It was a derivative of the founder's names. But it evolved to Festool. The founders names were Fezer and Stoll.
