July 4, 20251 yr Popular Post A man in the maze coaster set for a high school friend. I made the pattern from an internet picture. 1/4" Elm with a cork bottom. FD Polar 2/0 blades for the interior cuts, #3 for the outside. Quarter for scale. I forgot to add; the thin ones are the drop outs of the thick ones, a twofur if you will. July 4, 20251 yr Author Popular Post Fred, I dipped them in BLO twice, then dipped in diluted (50/50) shellac (from a can), hung up to dry/cure using a Christmas ornament hanger poked through the cork. FYI, I have recently found that if you allow the shellac to dry/cure in a dry and warm environment ( on top of a furnace vent ) the shellac will cure to a very clear, very hard, non sticky finish. I allow the shellac to flash off most of the solvent (alcohol) and then move it into the house and over the vent.

This mornings over night low was below 50*, so, pretty close to the heat running. The heat did run well into the last part of June. My bodies heat regulator is malfunctioning, the house got down to 68* last month, I woke up with a body temp of 95*.
