I was going through  my stash of veneers for a project, many of these I bought in the 80s from places like Constantine (when they were in NY) and Bob Morgan (now gone. Anyway, I found this species and will be using one in my American Women displays, but I have no idea what it is. the color in the photo is very close to true and it has a striking appearance for what I'm using it for. Any idea what it is?????

Boy, it sure does. I's bet that's what it is.

It sure is pretty!

Looks like what I recently bought from Amazon labelled as "red zebra wood".

I went to the Amazon site and looked it up. I found some sold by Barrington Hardwoods, so I went to their site and looked for it there. They had a description that said this:

"Red Zebrawood (also known as Ebiara or Berlinia) is a lumber that comes from West Africa, and is closely related to Zebrawood." Being from West Africa, I'm guessing it's the same or a closely related species to the one Lew linked.
