Started my second vase.

I started my second basket illusion vase. The first one will be for sale at the 4th of July fair. I needed a second one to enter at a contest at our local art center. I made a table out of 3/8” steel plate with a 1” post for putting the lines on to burn. I think this is going to work a lot better than the old way.

Lookin' Good, Rusty!

Do you make any calculations, or draw the design, before starting the vase?

Update, I had to stop here for today. My hand was getting cramped and my eyes crossed.

Here it is with the ring on top. Now it just needs the finish applied.

Looking at the picture, I'd swear it was real mosaic pottery and no way could that be made of wood.

SPECTACULAR!! :Praise:

Thanks Lew. I am really enjoying these harder more time consuming projects.

Really nice!

Just curious, any guesstimate on the amount of time you have on this one Rusty. I suspect time just slips by the farther you get into a project like this to the point time just doesn't matter you're having so much fun and enjoyment.

A rough guess would be around 50 to 60 hours.

Rusty, what an amazing piece.  I don't know all of what you ha to do to make it - BUT - "amazing" doesn't do it justice.

Beautiful work, amazing patience!
