Last fall my Pallet-miester offered me some 14' boxes that steel rods were shipped in. They are about the size of the boxes you're building. 
The plan it to cut them down to size and add some detailing for my wife's garden.

I try to make it simple by using a piece of the dentil mold.keep it simple but always be aware of where it will end so you can make small adjustments till the end..

Have not tried that method of making them . I always use the router table , but I do add a round over or ogee. 

If you adjust as you go , you can get your corners to look like they will blend  in and carry the sides perfectly..
