Had a fun day yesterday. Had a full class, five students. I had everybody introduce themselves and tell how much turning experience they had. All five said they had never turned before. That made for a busy day.

Yes I enjoy giving back. I was blessed to become friends with a guy I consider a master turner. He took me under his wing and taught me a lot. I really enjoy teaching the classes at Woodcraft and helping teach at the open shop mentoring at our club.

Kudos Rusty. You'll be surprised how much you'll learn and grow when teaching others.

We have an exotic store here called Liberty Hardoods. I ran into a tuner there. He said if I’d teach him how to build cabinets , he’d teach me turning. I wish I had taken him up on the  offer.

When I first started teaching, my former teacher told me- "If you really want to learn about something, start teaching it"
