Simple little flower

Wife put the flower in the bathroom and this little thing went up about 15" in two weeks. And when it shot open the flowers I decided I would make some out of wood. Knew I could not match the beauty or even get close so I decided to get something made to take its place when the flowers died  for I knew they would be gone is a couple of weeks.

Not even close to the Amarillis( sp) so here is next to the hardest thing I have tried in a long time.  Many many steps but I had all the parts of this thing laying around somewhere.

Bass wood, Ash and part of a big limb of a pecan tree. Water colors and 2X for the clear finish.

Psychedelic, Jess! I think I walked through a forest of them one night, in my youth ;)

That's great Patch. Lots of patience with all the painting and attaching all the petals.

Yep quite psychedelic or maybe from a fairy tale. But probably did not take as long as some of your carvings. Good job and will work as a replacement .
