Christmas carousel

This took me a week to make.  But it came out ok. It’s a carousel that plays jingle bells when you wind it up. I found it pretty difficult to make because my hands shake.  The snowmen are make from cedar, as well as their hats and scarves.  I mostly used colored magic markers on them. The carousel itself is pine with a red oak stain.  I should have used some pre-stain conditioner to help with the blotchy-ness. But now it’s just an after thought.it measures about 8 inches across and about 11 inches tall. I used some pine and make a piece of channel and glued it on the back of each snowman, then used CA glue to attach to the poles.

That is really cool. Pauley! Where did you get the musical mechanism?

In the plans it had a web site for the mechanism, but they were out of business.  So I looked at Amazon and found one that would work for 16 dollars.

I learned a lot from making this.  I have one of the poles misaligned (just slightly).  So I would do that part differently.  The hardest part was cutting and painting the small parts (snowmen’s caps, scarfs and mittens) because I have hand tremors.  My doctor calls them “essential hand tremors”…really ?Essential? Ha ha ha.

thank you grandpadave52.

Ya know, I thought about that, but after trying to think of a way to do that, I decided to forget that idea.  I’m not that smart.  I wanted to,put some led lighting above the snowmen, but couldn’t figure that one out either. But the moving snowmen is a good idea.  Thank you.
