December 4, 20241 yr Popular Post Hi Everyone Well here we are, almost at the end of another year. It's been a busy year creating some of my most intricate and detailed custom intarsia pieces yet. The 3 pieces of the "Aavegotchi Intarsia Collection were created using 1615 pieces from 49 different naturally colored woods in 17"x 12" custom oval frames. The 2 Grandkids projects (still working on 3 and 4) were created using 434 pieces from 26 different naturally colored woods in 8" circular custom mahogany frames. Lots of small pieces, intricate cutting , extensive detail carving and texturing and the use of different contrasts and grains bring these pieces to life. Over 1000 hours (give or take) were spent creating these one of a kind works of Intarsia Art. Thanks Everyone for following along during my WIP and for your comments and support. Stay Tuned-Fun is not done!!
December 5, 20241 yr Thank-you Mike for sharing your journey, creativity and amazing workmanship with us. I've thoroughly enjoyed each project from start to finish. I love them all, but if I choose one, it's "The Farmer Needs a Barn." It just hits home with me. The barn takes me back many many years ago when we first moved to a small farm. Your barn so closely resembles the one we had. No silo, but we had a wire ear corn crib. Thanks again. Looking forward to seeing the completion of your last two grandkid projects and whatever your mind envisions for 2025. Edited December 5, 20241 yr by Grandpadave52
