I'll start by saying my name is Robert and I'm a wood hoarder.

I've been active in the craft for about 40 years.  In the last 15 or so have I became more interested in fine woodworking and applied myself to pursuing higher level work with a major focus on hand tools but I guess I'm a hybrid ww'er so I have all the major power tools and like the time saving they provide. My favorite projects are furniture, and I like to use traditional methods of construction.   I've also done quite a few cabinet projects.

I also enjoy chip carving, but I don't do it as much as I need, so I've lost a lot of skill there.

I look forward to sharing some of my projects, but my main interest it helping others in areas I have some knowledge and experience.

I'm currently working on a commemorative blanket chest with chip carved panels.

Good to see you here! Someone is bound to mention donuts...just ignore them. They mean well, but don't need all the sugar at their (our) age.

Welcome aboard Robert. Great to have you join up. I'm confident you'll find this is the place to hang your hat, 'er shop apron on a regular basis. Looking forward to seeing and reading more about your projects, shop and experiences. We do love pictures here. Look around; if you have questions about the site or suggestions how we can better serve, don't hesitate to let us know. Glad you're here.

Far be it from me, but I believe others already have mentioned their passion for donuts. Now I'm not opposed to the tradition here that the new guy or lady brings donuts for the crew so if you're inclined to keep that tradition alive, your assigned day is Thursday since I'll be out of the office much of tomorrow. Not sure how it occurred, but it seems I've been given the mundane task to monitor and distribute all incoming donut shipments. Just drop them off in the breakroom. I'll take care of the rest. Thanks in advance for your understanding.;)

Well now that Dave has given you all the poop, oh no that would not go well with donuts! Note he does like to steer away from his days off, OOPS that covers a lot of days. ;). Welcome aboard and I will repeat we do like pictures. Yes we do have some hand tool aficionados here also. I still use those tools but it is hard to do on the lathe.  See you around .......sure hope these other guys didn't offend.

I'm a little late as usual but welcome aboard..

The main thing is I like to see pictures of things you have made or in the

pursuit of.

It didn't happen unless we have a photo for evidence..

It seems like no one wants to post their pictures anymore so help us out.

Something like this picture for it shows wife as the stained glass guru

and all but one wood thing in this picture had something to do with my

pastime.

And all my suggestions are just that for I like to do my own thing and I don't

worry if its right or wrong.1000005613.jpg.f9afb578c4c78a4948cfdd0bfd3921e0.jpg
