November 12, 20241 yr Popular Post It's been awhile since I did anything with my scroll saw and I've had this idea in the back of my mine for some time. I started by putting my idea on paper. I got the outboard motor by doing a google search for old outboard motors. I cut the image out and applied it to a self-adhesive laminating sheet then stuck it to the piece of wood so I would have a template for cutting it out on the scroll saw. I cut out two more pieces of just the boat and two arms because I wanted to give it somewhat of a 3D look. The rod and rod eyelets were made out of some wire I had and the reel, as you can see, is a hex nut. And the final product. I used fishing line to attach the fish to the boat and fishing swivels so everything would rotate with the slightest breeze. Can anyone guess where I got the wood for the fish? I wasn't sure what I was going to do with it when I started it so I just hung it in the garage in front of my rod rack. At least my granddaughter liked it.

Actually, very cool and extremely creative Bubba. Love the depiction of the old Evinrude motor. The rod and reel is pretty neat too. Well done!

I had some leftover silver paint my daughter left in my garage after a project but it was too thick and I am just too cheap to go out and buy some for this one time use. This was just a something to do project and I wanted to use stuff I already had in the shop. Edited November 13, 20241 yr by Bubba added thought.
