Ridgid Oscillating Sander issue

Good morning. I know I haven’t been on here a lot lately but life crazy busy for the most part in a good way. My Ridgid oscillating belt, even after replacing, will not stay in place. As it rises the belt slides down. I have tried to tighten and loosen the tension. Is there another adjustment I am missing?

thanks friends

With mine, I just fiddle with the adjuster knob in, small increments, until the belt stays put. If you don't use a vac during operation, accumulated dust may be the culprit. At any rate, try blowing it all out while it's runinng without a belt.

Thanks Gene I’ll give it a shot.

Once the tension is set the adjuster keeps it centered.

If you remove the sander from the spindle, and like Gene stated you can clear out any dust & debris in and under the sander. Give all the moving parts a little blast of teflon spray.
