Thanks, Gene. Curious as to how many of our members are Vietnam Veterans- regardless of their service branch.

I'm 71-1/2. Just missed it during the last two years of the draft lottery. Had a step brother in Vietnam. He passed a year ago last December. Cancer, a likely result of Agent Orange contact; at least he was told that by the VA although never officially diagnosed as such. He was a helicopter mechanic; worked on many after return flights of spraying. He was just short of 74.

I remember the Navy recruiter saying- "Boys, in Gaum there's a girl behind every tree!"  Later found out there are no trees in Gaum.:throbbinghead:

I got there shortly after you left.  While I was in the USAF, my assignment there was a joint AF-Navy project located at the Naval headquarters - so my bunk was in a Navy barracks instead of a tent :)  We also ate better, a whole lot better than the AF chow I had in Georgia :P

We got there at the beginning of the build up so we got a steel Quonset hut.  Thankfully, I ate in the flight line mess most of the time.
