July 7, 20242 yr Popular Post I have to help my lovely every once in a while she makes lots of different things using stained glass. And since I can bend metal and weld it, I thought I would make her some other way for her to display her makings . I use lots of 1/4 and 5/16 and 3/8" round metal rod but for these hanger displays I thought smaller size rod would be more better as I'm not caring about the stand being seen for it is just there to display her makings. I have the machine to roll the flat strap but I decided to use the large size welding rods instead which is about 3/16". Just knock the flux off and crank up the welder... I have seen these stands in her glass catalogs but hey they are kinda priced above my pension money. So I was thinking some of you guys might have a use for these types of tools to go with your wood working junk, did I say junk. Metal building supplies stocks all kinds of metal for any kind of projects. But wait, I just realized the round rod in this thing is used oil field sucker rod but I did use smaller rod from the metal building supplier for the curly cues. And the seats is repurposed plastic ordered from a company in Ohio and the the holly plastic from Lowes.
