Sanding belts

Featured Replies

I'm in need of a new belt for my Shopsmith sander and headed to Menards tomorrow.  I don't know much about these brands other than they have a wide price difference.  Any experience or pro/con recommendations, or shop somewhere else?

I've used both the Performax and the Gator brand with good performance and life. That said, both were for my 3x21 hand held belt sanders. I use one of those crepe cleaners as needed.

Surprisingly, I had very good performance from Harbor Freight belts on my 4x36 stationary.

Not a fan of the Gator products.

Mine come from Shopsmith.  Excellent belts.

Moot point, they didn't have anything wider than 4" on the rack, I guess it's special order.

Only 4” on the shelf ,  no 6” unless ordered? Non stock , only can be ordered?
