John Morris Posted May 8 Report Posted May 8 Thank you Dave! Soon the WWII veteran will be gone, the way of the last WWI veteran not too long ago. We'll never forget. HARO50 and Grandpadave52 1 1 Quote
Al B Posted May 9 Report Posted May 9 We still have a WWII veteran living in our town. He turned 101 years old a few months ago. The state legislature is considering changing the name of the state reservation in town after Boots Chuinard. Boots served in the army during the war and was in Ukraine when the war ended. Boots also was the head lifeguard in town for a number of years' Graduated from Boston Colledge and played football for them as a guard for all four years after his service. He was offered a chance to play football by the Green Bay Packers but decided against playing football. Boots also served on the school committee for 12 years. Been active all his life. You can still see him riding his schooter around town. Seen a lot at the senior center and is quite a comedian. Grandpadave52, Fred W. Hargis Jr, HARO50 and 1 other 1 1 2 Quote
