April 12, 20242 yr Popular Post Couldn't just put a top on the supports so she now has a little more storage. if she needs it. Had to make a 63 inch top with 48 inch boards - hence the side compartment. Would do quite a bit different if I was making it for someone but just for the house here it should work. Minwax golden oak stain and 4 coats of poly - 5 on the top. I stained and polyed the pieces as they were added. Took a lot longer to build, but it was definitely easier. It's in three separate pieces with a frame on the bottom of the top that fits over the end pieces to keep it rigid. Makes it easier to relocate. The toybox in the background is 5' long and has over 240 skeins of yarn in it. The closet has the rest of her yarn, thread, supplies, and various projects waiting to be done - all labeled, listed, numbered, and categorized. Edited April 12, 20242 yr by honesttjohn
April 12, 20242 yr Popular Post Nice design and well done John. A suggestion for the top...maybe incorporate a couple lift struts to assist in opening as well as hold open when needed.
April 12, 20242 yr Author Popular Post Been thinking about something like that. But she was anxious and wanted it ASAP.

April 17, 20242 yr Popular Post Turned out awesome…My wife does scrap booking. She turn our den into “Fort Lisa”. I don’t even go in there unless needed lol. Excellent job!
