Spray cans

Well, I made a spray can shaker.  I have atheritis in both hands and hand tremors. Sometimes I drop the can I’m trying to shake.  So I seen a YouTube video and decided to make one.  Not much to look at, I used some scrap walnut and a piece of plywood.  I covered the plywood with some plastic my daughter got from her work that were to be thrown out.  It has a 12v motor, a (forgot the technical name) a converter that goes from 110v to 12v.  I wanted to wire in a timer, but I just can not figure out how that is done.  So I got frustrated and wired in an off and on switch until I can figure out what I’m doing wrong.  I just wiped the walnut down with some walnut oil and made a little video.  Seems to work well.you can see the timer (a gray box with 4 buttons on it).

trivia:  when they make marbles, defective ones are sent to the paint company to put in spray cans.  that's the rattle.  glass will not interact with whatever is in the can, and helps to break up the paint/contents so you get full usage out of the contents.

I might be able to use one of those.  The other half are in lidded totes

Very cool Paul. Much fancier looking and functioning than mine. It too was a creation out of need for shoulder issues and my back surgery.

I did not know that.  It’s interesting.

Wow…you could probably use two or three of the shakers.

Actually, this is my third attempt at it.  I had some old electric motors and made my own shaker parts.  The first one the motor was quite strong enough to maintain the torque it need and burned out.  So I used another old motor and that one was just to powerful.  It broke a link and hit me in the stomach.  Still have the mark.  So this is my final attempt.  The part that holds the can was purchased from Amazon as well as the 12 volt motor.  Seems like it’s going to work (hopefully) well.
